Marvel star Jon Favreau directed Young Sheldon‘s pilot episode

In 2017, Young Sheldon was given a straight-to-series order by CBS, with Jon Favreau tapped to direct the highly anticipated pilot. His involvement really set the tone for the series as a dramedy. Known for playing Happy Hogan in the MCU and creating immersive worlds in movies like Iron Man and freshly directed The Mandalorian, his choice to take on a sitcom spin-off spoke volumes about his versatility as a director.

Favreau’s direction of Young Sheldon introduced audiences to a young Sheldon Cooper, who, despite his remarkable intellect, struggles with isolation and fitting in.
